n2y Recognized as a Finalist in Two Categories at the OHTec Best of Tech Awards
n2y®, a leading developer of online special education materials, was a finalist in the categories of “Tech Company of the Year” and “Tech Team of the Year” at the 11th Annual OHTec Best of Tech Awards, held April 27, 2017. The Tech Team of the Year nomination was for the development and release of n2y’s SymbolStix PRIME® product.
n2y is honored to be recognized among the companies who received Best of Tech Awards this year, including PolyOne, OnShift and BlueBridge Networks.
n2y was founded in 1997 in Huron, Ohio, by Jacquie Clark, a speech-language pathologist who saw that there was nothing in the curricula that taught current events to those with complex needs. To fill that gap, she created News-2-You®, a weekly current events newspaper with interactive activities designed specifically for individuals with special needs.
Today, n2y provides a SaaS suite of interactive, standards-based curriculum and supplemental materials (Unique Learning System®), the weekly newspaper, and a dynamic symbol set (SymbolStix PRIME®). The products are rapidly changing special education instruction as a result of n2y’s compelling value proposition to students and parents, teachers and administrators.
As of April 2017, n2y had 87 employees, a 40% increase since the end of 2015. The company is ranked 11th by number of employees in the March 2017 Crain’s Cleveland Business list of Largest Northeast Ohio Software Developers.
