About the Presenter

Dr. Megan-Brette Hamilton, assistant professor at Auburn University and certified speech-language pathologist (SLP), teaches courses on language and communication disorders and clinical problem-solving for youth. For 10 years, she worked in schools as an SLP in Brooklyn, New York, with a caseload of African American and Hispanic children. She researches experiences of speakers of English dialects, focusing on African American children, and cultural-linguistic competence of professionals working with diverse populations.
